Imperial Estates update

In costuming news, I was vastly disappointed by my Tudor dress...it never occurred to me that stretchy wool crepe will not become any less stretchy made into a dress. The bodice stretched about 6 inches on Saturday, and another 2 inches on Sunday. *sigh* I guess I'll have to take apart the bodice and take the new extra inches in at the front of the bodice. The stomacher makes it look huge too. So I didn't wear the darned stomacher and sewed the dress shut instead. Boe's leine looked damn good. He looked damn good. My man has great legs, and he was extremely comfortable in his new garb. I kind of hit the wall on sewing -- I was so tired and frustrated by everything that I threw my hands up in the air and said "Fuck it all." So Boe did not have his ionar made for him.
It's ok, though -- I think I'll distract myself by making Hospitaler loaner garb (the Adrian equivalent of SCA Gold Key garb) for new members. Boe is also helping me organize the Minister of Arms and Hospitaler stuff, since I am both Herald and Hospitaler for Somerset, and because I have neglected things so very long.
Boe, as you might guess, has renewed his interest in Adria, for which I am profoundly grateful. He says that he realized how dedicated I am to the Empire, and how much it hurt me to have my spouse prefer not to be involved in something I love very much. Bless his heart -- I love my man.
I also developed a respiratory illness while at the Estates Meeting -- sleep deprivation is not a good thing.
