Grrrrr

Stupid goddamned skirt.

I've pleated the thing six times, and my thread keeps breaking, the pleating's not even, and somehow I managed to cut the angle of the CF opening waaaaaaaaay too steeply.

*sigh*

Teaching myself complicated crap isn't a problem...it's the damned *easy* stuff that makes me cry.

I never did get to work on a new shift and partlet.

New shift

is in the works. It's coming together pretty nicely. The ramie linen feels exactly the same as normal linen, and looks spot-on as well. So I'm pretty happy with it.

In other costuming news, I think I figured out what to do about the doublet gown's skirt (other than burning it). It's not that I cut the CF at too steep an angle, it's that I didn't take into account the bottom of the doublet curves into the CF point. So cutting the skirt at *any* angle caused major suckage. Now I j7ust have to take the skirt off half of the doublet bottom, cut off the angled portion, and try to figure out if I have enough yardage to actually make the skirt do what I want it to do. If I don't have enough yardage, i'm SOL.

I'll work on my attifet while I'm gaming tonight.
