Meme sheepage/High School Meme

What year was it?
1996

What were your three favorite bands or musical artists?
Mozart, Loreena McKennit, and Tool

What were your favorite clothes?
Jeans. And a T shirt that read, "Carpe Jugulum. (seize the throat)" OK, and the T shirt my 2 best friends and I had made that was airbrushed "D3: The Dauntless Trio"

What was up with your hair?
Blond, always hot-rollered into soft curls

Who were your best friends?
Traci Henning, Carrie Martinek were my two closest friends. Niki Stotler, Kaleb Walker, Cathy Nelson, Jennifer Hertenstein, and Chris Seitz were also part of my friends' group.

Where did you work?
Pizza Hut. I was the "specials" person, which meant that I made anything that wasn't pizza. I still remember how to make chicken Alfredo.

What did you do after school?
Read. A lot. Anything that wasn't nailed down. But no homework. I figured, why do homework when I know everything on the tests anyway? Boy, that attitude sure screwed me up for a while...

Did you take the bus?
Nope. I shared my parents' extra car (1986 Oldsmoblie Cutlass Ciera; I loved that car) with my younger sister Melanie.

Who did you have a crush on?
Nobody, really.

Did you fight with your parents?
Not really. I was a "good kid," the kind who always made a great impression on my friends' parents. They thought I was a good influence. Little did they know about that incident at church camp...

Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?
Johnny Depp. Ever since "Edward Scissorhands."

Did you smoke cigarettes?
Occasionally...the addiction didn't set in until after I turned 21.

Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack because you were too nervous to find your locker?
You've *got* to be kidding.

Did you have a 'clique'?
Yep. *laughs* I was a Speech Team Geek. All my friends did speech tournaments on the weekends.

Did you have "The Max" like Zach Kelly and Slater?
Huh? OK, I recognize the names from "Saved By The Bell," sorta. (My parents limited how much TV we could watch -- 2 hours a week, unless it was educational in some aspect, and as much news coverage as we wanted. I saved my 2 hours for "The X-Files" and some British comedies on PBS. To be fair, they were pretty liberal about what they considered educational. "Cops," for example, was educational on several levels: Never Fuck With The Police, Always Pull Over ASAP When The Nice Police Officer Flips His Lights On, and Always Hide Your Weed Under The Passenger's Seat. My paternal granfather was a cop in Cincinnatti, so Respect Authority Figures, Especially When They Wear A Badge And A Gun was drilled into my head from birth onwards.)

Admit it, were you popular?
Certainly, in a geekhood sort of way

Who did you want to be just like?
My dad. I wanted to be so much like him that I went into Air Force ROTC because I thought it would make him proud of me. He was proud of me anyway, I was just too blind to see it.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A military translator

Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?
Working off my debt to the US Govmint, probably in Intelligence work. After that, I planned to become a translator for the UN, or politics. Unmarried. Definitely No Kids, Ever.
