Halloween decorations
Oct. 25th, 2004 02:51 pmBoe and I have spent the day putting up our brand-spankin'-new Halloween decorations all over our porch and the front of the house. This is the first year we've been in a house and therefore can pass out candy to the wee trick or treaters. The older (like sixteen and older) trick or treaters get bouillon cubes because we're eeeevile like that. The house smells like pumpkin now too.
Anyhoo, Sunday we went to the Ohio Renaissance Festival and had an okay time. And I am sorry to say that Jen Thompson was not the only one to have a "Holy shit! This isn't a Star Wars convention!" moment. Yep, a stormtrooper and an Imperial officer apparently decided they didn't have enough conventions to go to and that a renaissance fair was the perfect venue for their "garb." Feh. I was wearing my grey Flemish peasant outfit with a straw hat (couldn't find my Flemish hood) and Boe was wearing a generic Chivalry Sports Lord's Coat with a shirt I made for him. We were comfy, but it was a little boring at this fair, actually. It's very strange not to be performing at a fair, and perhaps that's why we both felt a bit of dissatisfaction at the general "blah" feeling of the fair.
Next year, I'm going to Bristol, dammit. :-)
