Weekend update.
Jan. 16th, 2005 09:58 pmWell, I knew this weekend was a bust when i saw LJ was down, so I visited my mom in Columbus, OH this weekend. SHe's doing well, dating a very nice man, who I met on Saturday.
We watched the BBC "Six Wives Of Henry VIII" and "Elizabeth R" ver the weekend, and I wound up naming the different portraits that inspired the garb in "Elizabeth R." Mom was very impressed. I think she finally realized how much the whole medievaloid thing has taken over my life when we went to Half-Price books and I dropped thirty bucks (I haven't spent that much on books in a long time!) on biographies of the Houses of Tudor and Stuart. Sure, I have three biographies of Henry VIII and his multiple womenfolk, but this one was one I hadn't read, and had the additional bonus of color plates instead of B&W. I picked up one biography about Margaret and Mary Tudor (Henry VIII's sisters), and another about Mary Stuart.
I chatted with Marymont on Friday night, which was really kewl. Suffice it to say, flying out to CA to visit/learn/shop The Dangerous Store has gone from being wishful thinking to reality. Right now, fares to CA are really cheap flying from Indianapolis to LA, too. I just need to get my tax refund -- c'mon, W-2s! Boe is perfectly cool about it, and doesn't mind in the least, as long as I wait until we have a chunk of extra cash on hand. Which is why I'm waiting until Refund Time. in reality, it won't be too long, as I usually have my taxes done by Valentine's Day and have my refund direct deposited. And I need to find out my work schedule as well, but that should be fairly soon, since I'm starting my new job tomorrow.
Which reminds me that I really should get to bed, since I have to get up considerably earlier than my usual time. Wish me luck on the new position!
