Got some news
Jun. 15th, 2005 04:29 pmthat was better than expected. See, I applied for a Medical Technician position at the local VA hospital a couple of weeks ago. It's a M-F, 8 am to 4:30 pm, no weekends or holidays position. And it starts at about $8,000 more than I currently make.
Well, I cleared one hurdle, apparently -- I received this letter from The Powers That Be:
Dear Ms. Powell: We have reviewed your application, found you qualified for the position, and forwarded your name and application to the VA facility listed for consideration. That VA Medical Center may contact you by telephone or by mail for an interview. Yadda, yadda...

Blah.
In other words, I'm onto the next round. W00t! I would be stupid, *incredibly* stupid, to turn down this sort of opportunity, even though I like my current job. So I guess we'll see what the next few weeks brings...
