Downstaffed from work today...
Sep. 1st, 2005 09:06 amApparently, I have OT coming my way that my hospital doesn't want to pay for. We had six(!) phlebots today anyway (we usually have 4), so it wasn't a hardship on my coworkers. Woo!
I purchased fabric for the Moretto gown as soon as I got off work. It's polyester, true, but my budget just can't handle super-heavy weight silk satin. The color is slightly lighter than what my monitor "reads" as the gown's color, but it's the very heavyweight satin that's used for weddings and whatnot. It was also 50% off, which makes me happy. Now all I need is navy velvet/een for the guards.
Boe and I are taking two Metea faire volunteers to the Michigan Renaissance Festival on Sunday, and I'm making one girl's (extremely inauthentic, but oh well) bodice for her. She made her skirt out of lavender flannel, and I'm making her bodice out of matching lavender flannel, trimmed in dark purple grosgrain ribbon layered below creamy yellow guimpe. The trim will help pull things together a bit and make it look better. The girl asked me to show her how to make eyelets, since she didn't like how grommets look on Faire bodices. *chuckles evilly* I think I've sucked another prospective costumer into the Sistahood! Bwahahahahaha!
