More garb plans
Oct. 7th, 2005 01:25 pmI keep tripping over my Morien Blue early Tudor gown...and I think the fabric gods are trying to tell me something. I do believe I'll spend some time ripping it apart to make it fit better. Shocking, innit? Krista doing alterations?! The world must be coming to an end.
And, of course, I need proper headwear. After re-reading Sarah Goodman's article "A Perfectly Plausible French Hood," I realized that the coif with a wired brim seen here: http://www.ninyamikhaila.com/costumes1.html in the "1540s Middle Class girl" section of the gallery may be the undercap to a gable hood. And it's just what I need for this outfit.
It feels good to modify clothing I've already made instead of working on something new. I like knowing that the time and energy I spend on making clothes isn't wasted...
