Costuming for weight loss
Nov. 23rd, 2005 07:00 pmI've lost 7-8 pounds already on the SBD -- whee! However, my boobs are deflating (the bust is always the first to go), which means that my corset no longer fits. So I'm using
frualeydis' website as inspiration and making an outfit circa 1130. It's pretty and elegant and understated while being very accomodating to weight loss (that, and I think I've *finally* got the hang of making tunics! Yes, I'm stupid when making tunics -- I have the hardest time with them!).
So my linen kirtle is almost done -- I'm even handsewing the SOB. It's coming together pretty easily. The kirtle will be pink. Very very pink. Not quite Pepto-Bismol or Barbie pink, but close. The gown to go over the kirtle will be a lovely thin and drapy navy blue wool. (It was the last of JoAnn's $3/yd wool. I bought the last 3 5/8 yards in the store.)
Dang, I'm getting all sorts of productive today.
