In lieu of actual content aka positive proof I'm not just blowing smoke about my costuming exploits:

These were the infamous 10-hour Irish outfits made for Bristol Renaissance Faire. Leine and Kilcommon jacket made from Reconstructing History patterns.

The first 15th century kirtle I ever made. Our current Duchess is wearing it, as I didn't like how I looked in it.

My linen stripey fitted gown. It's only 2 very thin layers thick, so it's my gown for OMG HOT weather. I've now lost enough weight that i need to wear a bra with it, since it no longer supports the girls the way it was meant to, and I'm just dissatisfied enough with how it turned out that I'm not willing to go back and make it over again.

This is what happens when my squires opt for an extempore speech from me during their knightings: lots of laughter as I usually say something profound, followed by something totally inappropriate. Boe's rubbed off on me, I guess. Poor
berliosxo ...he was just stunned, on his knees in front of me, gaping at me in shock.

Meet Margot van Kapelle, my new persona!

I whipped up the cap and the apron in the car on the way to War. riiiiiiiiiip..."Honey, what are you doing?"...riiiiiiiiiip...."Patterning an apron and a cap to cover my hair. Why?"...riiiiiiiiiiip...."You do know we're half an hour away from the site, right?" ...riiiiiiiiiiiip..."Yeah, I know. It'll be done in 28 minutes."....riiiiiiiiiiip...."Baby girl, I love you, but you're weird."

Talking with cubsfan57 and her husband. This kirtle's my
3 yards of 45" wide miracle dress. I dyed the fabric down
to its current color from the original fluorescent pink. The
skirt's a bit narrow, but now I know I can whip out a kirtle
from 3 yards of fabric!

Another shot of the PINK kirtle. Yes, I was sewing myself another
apron when I was asked to speak. (The original apron seen with
my burgundy Flemish kirtle above self-immolated at an event a year ago.)

Myself and berliosxo during one of our War courts when I was Duchess.
The gown is the butter-yellow one one my website.
Yeah, it's still 5 inches too long.

Stepping down as Crowns. Thank God.
I'll have a full length shot of the gown in a few minutes.

My cozy rust wool gown, worn over a linen chainse.
Yes, I was wearing this in Vegas in July, why do you ask?

Did I mention that Boe recently ran this gown through
the washer AND dryer? It could fit my 7 year old niece now.

My dark green wool gown with Sleeves of Great Shininess.

An action shot of the sleeves. They're fun. :-)

The blue linen bliaut that was my first experiment in 12th
century costuming. It has since been repurposed.

Boe always looks grumpy in posed photos. :-/
It's a shame, because he really is just delectable
when he smiles.

"Yes, dear, they've heard this story before.
I have it written down, that's how I know."

This is Waltzing Matilda, the kitten I and a neighbor
rescued and rehomed. Isn't she just adorable?

Did I mention that Princess has grown a bit?
She's still tiny compared to the boys though.

Pretty pretty Princess hunting stinkbugs in our
overhead light fixture. They kept making ticking noises.
