I have a question fore all you out there who have had to deal with mice. Fagan, our Mighty Hunter of Doom (who thinks he's a dog) brought me a mouse tonight as I was washing dishes. A very dead mouse, clamped in his jaws.
Urgh. I just about hurled.
When we moved into the house, the former tenant advised us that he had a couple of mouse holes in teh cabinetry, so we plugged up the holes with steel wool. I had heard that it hurts their noses, so they avoid the holes.
Apparently, I was wrong.
I checked the cabinets that had the mouseholes, and lo and behold! Droppings. In our baking dishes. *Those* puppies are going to soak overnight in bleach water. The dishes, not the droppings.
Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of mice, like preventative measures? I don't want to use poison because of the cats' possible ingestion, and traps? Ick. Do I call an exterminator? What do I do, besides panic at the thought of all that mouse poop shedding germs on our cookware?
