Finally, a bit of Christmas spirit
Dec. 22nd, 2004 11:38 pmOne of Boe's co-workers has just gone through a very messy divorce. He got the two houses, the three cars, and all the furniture. She got the kids. He knows how to play the court system so that he pays the minimum amount of support, as late as legally possible.
This is her first Christmas as a single mom, and she's working two jobs just to make ends meet. She confided to Boe that she really wasn't going to be able to afford Christmas this year.
Boe and the rest of her co-workers got her a tree, ornaments, and several gifts. Boe and I shopped for her kids tonight on the money all her coworkers threw into the pot. Boe just informed her of what he and the rest of her coworkers did for her. She is ecstatic.
I feel like I hit the lotto jackpot, and haven't even bought a ticket.
This is *really* Christmas.
