Boe and I had our annual Open House/Strap On The Feedbag today. Twenty people showed up at various times, and there was much feasting and laughing and playing of games and snuggling and kissing and cooking and good-natured teasing and it could not have been more Norman Rockwell.
Leftovers are in the fridge, and Boe and I opened our Christmas gifts early. (The past few years, we've opened our presents on Christmas Eve in order to sleep in on Christmas Day.)
Boe received: a pair of flannel sleep pants in his favorite red and black plaid, a dark khaki fedora (he looks really delectable in it), and a huge-ass wallhanger claymore. He's soooo happy -- he loves getting weaponry as gifts (we're such hopeless romantics).
I received: several bars of really good Italian chocolate, a copper wind ornament (I don't really know how to describe it, but it's gorgeous), a couple of medievaloid books, and a glider rocker. I've been lusting after a glider rocker for years now, and am very, very excited to get it.
Tomorrow, we will stay in jammies as long as we can, and then go to see The Phantom of the Opera in the theater.
Sunday will be spent traveling to Mom's house in Columbus, OH to have our Christmas with her, and Monday evening, it's back to work.
May everyone have a very merry Christmas, and enjoy togetherness with the loved ones you like, as well as the patience to deal wioth the loved ones you don't.
