As you can probably guess from the title, I worked on my gown today while gaming instead of the hoods I originally had in mind. So the bodice is completely sewn to the pleated skirt -- whee! I didn't get any photos, since I figured it would be rude to interrupt gaming, "Hey, Carrie, could we get a shot of this -- oh yeah, I rolled a seven -- and maybe this other angle?" Erm, no. Granted, my social skills may need work every now and again, but I do try to be a good guest.

So hattage will take place tomorrow after the stomacher gets done. I'm planning to make hoods for Carrie and myself based off of the step-by-step directions seen here: http://www.uvm.edu/~hag/sca/tudor/gableinst.html . She has the most perfect gable hood I have ever seen. I hope this works -- I love weird hats, annd gables are about as weird as they come. You don't see a lot of them, either. I'm not sure if people are too intimidated by them, or think that they're not flattering or what, but I loves 'em.

Besides, French hoods intimidate me more than gables do. I don't know why, but they freak me out. There are so many different ways to make them, and most of the patterns/demos out there produce a result I am less than thrilled with. So I'd like to try something more geometric/easy to measure first, even if it does look a little more complicated/fiddly.
