Archery schtuff

Last night I went over to Their Graces' house and shot for the monthly archery tournament...came in second place, which is a good deal better than my usual standing. Today I'm going to the local archery store to find out what's going on with my bowstring -- I think it stretched over the winter, and so I was unable to shoot with my bow yesterday and had to use on of the Duchy's instead. I'm also going to scope out if they have any wooden arrows for sale, as the populace has been using Their Graces' arrows, and have broken (over a year or two) half of them. I plan to purchase at least a dozen in my colors, and if the price is right, a dozen in Boe's colors as well.

I'm still working on the kirtle. Sunday was the event, and last night, I was over at Constance and Miguel's house for the archery thang, so I haven't worked on it in a couple days. But I want to get back into it today.

Wheeee!

Boe and I just got back from Ye Olde Archery Place and Boe now has a recurve of his very own.

It was an early birthday present, what can i say? Needless to say, we didn't get any arrows, but we got Himself's recurve, a bow stringer, a shooting glove, and a new string for my bow for $120. My bowstring was starting to unravel, which is why it was stretching like mad. And Boe is really happy with his new bow -- I told him that I will kick his ass if he manages to lose it the way he did with part of one of his earlier birthday presents (A couple years back, I got Boe an engraved Zippo and really nice leather pouch for his pipe tobacco. He managed to lose the pouch within six months. *sigh*)

Arrows will have to wait until my next paycheck.
