Mar. 24th, 2005 06:08 pmI'm soooooo tired...I'm going to bed really frickin' early tonight. Like, right after I get done with this post sort of early. But my ass, it is a-draggin', and I'd really like to be a real live human being tomorrow when I have the ER phone.
It's probably because of stress -- Boe lost his job a few weeks ago, and will be playing house-husband until next semester when he applies for every work-study program known to mankind. Income's not a problem, for a change -- I make enough that we can get by pretty comfortably. It's his health. See, he was recently (within the past 2 weeks) diagnosed with a misalignment/potential hernia of L-5 (that's the part of your spine right above your butt, in layman's terms) and a bone spur has developed in that area as a result. But that's not the worrisome problem, since that can be controlled with appropriate meds and physical therapy. It's his liver -- both Boe's paternal grandfather and father died of cirrhosis (grandpa didn't drink, my f-i-l did) and the doc's had some blood work done to rule out cirrhosis in Boe. No cirrhosis, but his liver is enlarged and fatty, which means that there will be more sonograms, ultrasounds, and other assorted diagnostic crap to find out what's going on.
So a low-fat diet for Boe for the next 2 weeks, before he goes in for another sonogram and ultrasound of his liver. Yay. And as an added bonus, he's not allowed to participate in combat or *archery* until the doc says OK. It looks like his new bow will get very little use in the next few weeks. *sigh*
The bright side? Hey, it's not cancer. Now *that* would suck.
