I decided to try to make the kirtle reversible, navy fustian lined in rust linen (and vice versa).

The linen was a steal from the home dec area of Hobby Lobby ($4/yd at 60 inches wide, very heavy, maybe 7.0 oz/yd) with one flaw -- it used to bleed like mad. I got the fabric bleeding stopped by adding salt to the wash cycle, so we'll see how it turns out.

Since I'm trying to make this reversible, I can't figure out a good way to make this kirtle on the machine...meaning I'm going to have to handsew everything.

Carrie, this means that my next masterwork may have its beginnings here. ;-)

Did I ever mention that I hate railroading pattern pieces? It makes me feel all inefficient.

The both the sets of pieces are cut out. This means I can begin pinning now. Yay. (Pinning is right up there with cutting out and hemming.)

ETA: I don't know quite what's going on with me tonight -- I keep finding grammatical and/or spelling errors in this post. Argh.
