New family member
Sep. 21st, 2005 09:01 pmMy stepmom Bitz called me up tonight to introduce my newest family member -- a "baby brother" named Oliver.
Oliver is a young tuxedo cat that was a stray Dad and Bitz took in (at first, it was going to be "just for a few days" until they could take him to a no-kill shelter. Heh.) Well, the "just a few days" has become a permanent arrangement, thanks to Oliver's apparent charm and Dad's remarkably soft heart -- when Oliver was living "temporarily" in the garage prior to being taken permanently in their home, Dad would spend HOURS in the garage loving on Oliver. Ollie went to the vet today and was given a clean bill of health. W00t!
Dad and Bitz are both admitted "non-cat-people", but Oliver has changed all that for them. When Bitz and I hung up, Oliver was in Bitz's lap, getting all the loving he could handle. :-)
Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, yes it does.
Something that makes me not-so-warm-and-fuzzy: Oliver had been declawed on all four feet and neutered. Somebody just dumped this sweet little boy to fend for himself. Grrrr.
