So. Been a while.
Jun. 1st, 2010 11:45 amMost of my time is spent working or driving Boe around -- with last week and this week being the last 2 weeks he's at work, well, there's a LOT more stuff that needs to get done, like packing up his classroom and whatnot. I did make time to go to Fox Island to swim on Thursday, then took a couple of days off last weekend to visit my mom (I hadn't seen her since Christmas and that made me feel like a crappy daughter). Now we're in the last week of Boe's school year and even though I'm off until Friday, I'm still busy as hell...how on earth does that happen?
Our friend Brian is back from Florida, and he and his fantastic wife Lisa spent some time with Boe and I on Friday. It was fun, though hot and muggy (and we were eaten alive in the back yard by mosquitoes -- I must remember to buy citronella candles this week).
Uh, other than that, some wedding cake drama at work has been interesting. Flist, what's your opinion on using food stamps to buy a 3-tier wedding cake? The real fun started when the bride whipped out her iPhone and started texting pictures of the cake to her friends, all the while complaining that she wanted her money back because "we" (the cake decorators) messed up (for the record, no, we didn't mess up, she chose fugly colors for her cake -- dark purple base icing with bright neon yellow roses). She wanted cash back for a wedding cake that she paid for with food stamps. LOLOLOLOLOL...no. So we'll see how this all pans out -- three managers are involved, and all three of us cake decorators worked on the cake in some capacity, so we're sticking together LIKE GLUE, people.
