1. What is your Adrian/SCA Name?
Sorche Kyrkeby in the Adrian Empire, Madeleine de Saint-Michel in the short time I was in the SCA.
2. What are your titles?
Abbess of the Church of Adria, Knight Minister, first Duchess of Somerset, kitchen helper and full-time A&S judge
3. When did you join Adria?
About three years ago, when my husband was made viceroy of the then Shire (now Duchy) of Somerset
4. What subdivisions have you belonged to?
Somerset's my one and only. In the SCA I played with the Shire of Shadowed Stars.
5. What questions about Adrian history would you like to have answered?
Um, none, really.
6. What is your favorite Adrian folktale (true or apocryphal)?
Er, I haven't heard that many, so I really don't have one.
7. Who in Adria has influenced you the most and why?
Her Royal Highness Maedb Hawkins of the Drakonja. I can't imagine why ;-) -- she's Class with a capital "C". A very kind woman who took this newbie under her wing, over five hundred miles away. Also Dame Rose of Aberlone -- when i was just getting into the costuming thing, she gave me many, many fabrics and really set my imagination afire.
8. Who was/is your favorite monarch? (What kingdom)
Hmmmmm...I have two: Dame Maedb, currently Imperial Princess and former Empress, and Sir William Baine, King of Albion. He was the knight my husband was squired to.
9. How do you think you most influenced the Adrian Empire?
I kept the Duchy of Somerset going after my lord husband bowed out of the whole being in charge thing.
10. What is your most vivid Adrian memory?
The first Imperial Banner War Northeast. The autocrat was less than stellar, but the crowns made it a smashing success. Also, I met Bish. He's an amazing guy, and I love him dearly.
11. What about Adria has changed the most since you joined?
I'm not really sure -- I've been a member for such a short time, and out in the hinterlands there aren't any other Adrians to play with, so i really couldn't say.
12. What do you miss the most about the Adrian Empire since you joined?
I want to go to an Imperial Estates meeting again so badly! Finally being able to meet the movers and shakers in the Empire was an eye-opening experience.
13. What is your worst Adrian memory?
Calling my car DOA at the latest Imperial War Northeast.
14. What is your favorite Adrian song?
Er, song?
15. If you could talk to anyone from Adrian history, who would it be?
Um, I'm not sure -- I don't know very much about Adrian history.
16. What were the authenticity standards when you joined?
I thought I was cool wearing wench wear. Then I saw all these really amazing early period clothes at the Imperial War, and kinda went, "Oooooo, I want!"
17. What did you wear to your first event?
Wench wear. Very sad. My skirt was a two-seam drawstring affair made from a poly-cotton bedsheet.
18. What do you think is the best development in the Adrian Empire since you joined?
I'll have to look up the various Estates Meetings' minutes and get back to you on that.
