Ye Olde Event
May. 23rd, 2005 05:01 pmIt was ok. Not great, but okay. See, the heavens opened about 5 in the afternoon, and so we never did get combat going. Mom and Melanie showed up for about an hour (with Amazing Neice of Adorableness) and we managed to get Mom involved in a couple of dances. She really seemed to enjoy the dancing (especially when the Amazingly Cute Neice joined in the dances), and she seemed to "get" it a lot better than Bitz did, who showed up at 2 (when everybody but Dame Halldora was at the archery butts). Bitz chatted with Halldora a while, and then started to threaten to leave since I wasn't being a good hostess.
( And this is where a lot of emo crap comes up )
Anyway, it rained and got very cold around 5, so we moved feast to our house at about 6 so people could enjoy it in comfort. The food was a hit. Everybody loved the mushroom pasties -- there wasn't any left for tonight! And there's one slice of meat pie left, and about half of an egg-and-cheese pie. My squire Alianore took home the wardynes for her dining pleasure as a thank-you for her help in making feast a success, and the chickens in wine-broth were fantastic -- the meat was so tender we found piles of bones at the bottom of the dutch oven.
Boe and I wound up having a hell of a row after everyone left, but things were good again between us about an hour after our fight. That's one good thing about our relationship -- when we have spats like this, we cool down and apologize to each other very quickly.
BTW, the Amazingly Adorable Neice looks an awful lot like her Aunt Krista... :-D
